Homemade Unicorn Lemonade

This whimsical lemonade is bursting with sweet-tart flavor and beautiful pastel swirls. It’s made with fresh lemon juice, layered with naturally colored ice cubes or juices, and finished with a touch of sparkle—perfect for parties, summer days, or just a little extra magic in your life.

Ingredients

For the base lemonade:

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–5 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes

For unicorn magic colors (choose 2–3):

  • 1/2 cup blue raspberry juice or blue food coloring in water
  • 1/2 cup pink dragon fruit juice or pink food coloring in water
  • 1/2 cup purple grape juice or butterfly pea tea

Optional add-ins:

  • Edible glitter or shimmer dust
  • Fresh fruit slices or pastel-colored rock candy for garnish
  • Mint leaves

Directions

  1. Make the lemonade:
In a large pitcher, combine fresh lemon juice, sugar, and water. Stir well until sugar is fully dissolved. Chill in the fridge.
  2. Prepare colorful layers:
Pour your chosen colored juices into ice cube trays and freeze (or use chilled juice if layering instead of freezing). Butterfly pea tea adds a beautiful purple hue and turns pink when it reacts with lemon juice!
  3. Assemble your unicorn lemonade:
Fill glasses with colorful ice cubes or pour in a little of each juice layer. Top with lemonade. The colors will swirl and create a magical ombré effect.
  4. Add sparkle:
Stir in a pinch of edible glitter or top with fun garnishes like a lemon wedge, rock candy stick, or even a tiny paper unicorn topper!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Chill/Freeze Time: 2 hours (for colorful ice)

Total Time: 10 minutes (or 2 hours 10 minutes with prep)

Servings: 4
