Mostaccioli Bake

Here’s the recipe for Mostaccioli Bake:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Mostaccioli pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage (depending on your preference)
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar of your favorite marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the Mostaccioli pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until they are tender and fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef or Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Stir in the marinara sauce with the meat mixture and let it simmer for a few minutes to combine the flavors.
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce. Add half of the shredded mozzarella and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Transfer the pasta mixture to a 9″x13″ baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  3. Bake uncovered for about 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  4. Allow the Mostaccioli bake to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Mostaccioli Bake!
