A juicy grilled chicken breast topped with honey mustard, mushrooms, bacon, and melted cheese — just like the restaurant favorite, but made right at home!
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 8 slices cooked bacon
- 1 ½ cups shredded Colby Jack or cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
For the Honey Mustard Sauce:
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Directions
- Make the honey mustard sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together mayo, Dijon mustard, honey, and lemon juice. Set aside or chill until ready to use. - Season and cook the chicken:
Season both sides of chicken breasts with salt and pepper. In a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat, cook chicken in olive oil for 6–7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. Remove from heat. - Sauté the mushrooms:
In the same pan, add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender and browned (about 5 minutes). Set aside. - Assemble:
Place cooked chicken breasts on a baking sheet or oven-safe dish.- Spread a generous spoonful of honey mustard on each piece.
- Top with sautéed mushrooms.
- Add 2 slices of bacon per breast.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the top.
- Broil to melt cheese:
Broil for 2–3 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Watch closely to avoid burning. - Garnish and serve:
Sprinkle with chopped parsley (optional) and serve with extra honey mustard sauce on the side.
