Bobby Flay’s Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy

Ingredients

For the Steak Patties:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80–85% lean)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil​
    For the Mushroom Gravy:
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
    Instructions
  • Prepare the Patties:
    Cook the Patties:
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the patties and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side until browned.
  • Remove the patties and set aside.
    Make the Gravy:
  • In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3–4 minutes until soft.
  • Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine.
  • Gradually add beef broth, stirring to prevent lumps, and bring to a simmer.
    Combine and Serve:
  • Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve the patties topped with mushroom gravy and garnish with fresh parsley.
