Dill Pickle Saltines

Dill pickle saltines are a simple and tasty snack that combines the flavors of dill pickles and salty crackers. They are quick to prepare and make for a crunchy, tangy treat. Here’s a basic recipe to make dill pickle saltines:

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of saltine crackers (approximately 4 sleeves)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) of dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1-2 tablespoons dried dill weed (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup pickle juice (from a jar of dill pickles)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Prepare the Seasoning Mixture: In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Stir in the dry ranch seasoning mix, dried dill weed, and pickle juice. Mix well until the ingredients are combined and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Coat the Crackers: Place the saltine crackers in a large bowl. Pour the seasoning mixture over the crackers, making sure to coat them evenly. Gently toss the crackers to coat them with the seasoning mixture. You can also use a sealable plastic bag for this step.
  4. Layer on a Baking Sheet: Place the coated saltines in a single layer on a baking sheet. You might need to use multiple baking sheets or bake in batches, depending on the quantity.
  5. Bake: Bake the seasoned saltines in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes. This helps set the seasoning and crisp up the crackers.
  6. Optional Parmesan Topping: If you’d like to add Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it over the crackers when you remove them from the oven while they are still warm.
  7. Cool and Store: Allow the dill pickle saltines to cool completely before transferring them to an airtight container. Store them at room temperature.

These dill pickle saltines make a great snack for parties, game nights, or any time you’re craving a crunchy and tangy treat. They can be quite addictive, so be prepared to make more once you’ve tried them!
