Savory, cheesy, and crispy—these chicken cordon bleu bites are an easy, bite-sized version of the classic dish, all made in the air fryer for that perfect crispiness.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices of deli ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- Cooking spray (for the air fryer)
Directions
- Prep the chicken:
Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces (about 1-inch cubes). You should have around 12-16 pieces. - Assemble the bites:
Lay a slice of ham flat and place a slice of Swiss cheese on top. Fold the ham and cheese together, then roll them into a tight cylinder. Place the rolled ham and cheese inside each piece of chicken. Secure with toothpicks, if necessary. - Coat the chicken:
In one bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs. - Bread the chicken:
Dredge each chicken bite first in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg wash, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is fully coated. - Air fry the bites:
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the chicken bites in the basket in a single layer, making sure they’re not touching. Spray the tops with a little more cooking spray. - Cook:
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C). - Serve:
Remove the toothpicks and serve your chicken cordon bleu bites with a dipping sauce of your choice, like honey mustard or ranch!
