Pecan Pie Brownies

These pecan pie brownies are an indulgent treat that combines two classic desserts in one. Fudgy, rich brownies topped with a sticky, sweet, and nutty pecan pie filling. You won’t be able to stop at one!

Ingredients

For the Brownie Layer:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Pecan Pie Layer:

  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecan halves or chopped pecans

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Make the brownie layer:
In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and stir until combined. Sift the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder into the bowl and stir until the mixture is smooth. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  3. Bake the brownie layer:
Bake the brownie layer for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. The brownie layer should be set but not fully baked.
  4. Prepare the pecan pie filling:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in the pecans until well combined.
  5. Add the pecan pie filling:
After baking the brownie layer, remove the pan from the oven. Carefully pour the pecan pie filling over the partially baked brownies, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake the complete dessert:
Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the pecan pie filling is set and the top is golden brown. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
  7. Cool and slice:
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
