- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

Directions
Step 1: Make the Patties
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper.
- Mix just until combined—don’t overwork the meat.
- Form into 4–6 patties.
Step 2: Brown the Steaks
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add patties and cook 3–4 minutes per side until browned (they don’t need to be fully cooked through).
- Remove and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Gravy
- In the same skillet, melt butter.
- Add sliced onions (and mushrooms if using) and cook until tender and golden, about 8–10 minutes.
- Sprinkle in the flour and stir well to coat.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Simmer until thickened, 4–5 minutes.
Step 4: Simmer Together
- Return the patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over the top.
- Cover and simmer on low for 15–20 minutes, until patties are cooked through and tender.
