Zesty Salmon Burgers with Avocado Salsa

These salmon burgers are bursting with citrusy flavor and topped with a refreshing avocado salsa—perfect for summer grilling or a quick weeknight dinner.


Ingredients:

For the Salmon Burgers:

  • 1 lb skinless salmon fillet (finely chopped or pulsed in a food processor)
  • 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

For the Avocado Salsa:

  • 1 ripe avocado, diced
  • 1 small tomato, diced
  • 2 tbsp red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt to taste

Optional for Serving:

  • Toasted brioche buns or lettuce wraps
  • Mixed greens or arugula
  • Additional lime wedges

Directions:

  1. Make the salsa:
    In a small bowl, combine diced avocado, tomato, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Mix gently and set aside.
  2. Prepare the salmon patties:
    In a large bowl, mix the chopped salmon with breadcrumbs, red onion, parsley, Dijon, lime zest and juice, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined. Form into 4 patties.
  3. Cook the burgers:
    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through.
  4. Assemble:
    Serve salmon burgers on buns or in lettuce wraps. Top with a generous scoop of avocado salsa and greens if desired. Squeeze fresh lime over the top for an extra zesty punch!
