These slow cooker ribs are a surefire crowd-pleaser
Ingredients:
- 3 pounds pork side ribs (about 2 racks)
- 2 (12-ounce) cans of root beer
- 2 cups barbecue sauce
- 1 teaspoon each of salt and pepper
Instructions:
- Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs. You can use the back of a spoon to slide underneath and then peel it off using your fingers.
- Season the ribs with salt and pepper.
- Lay the seasoned ribs in a 6-quart slow cooker in a single layer.
- Pour the root beer over the ribs.
- Cook the ribs on low for 5 hours or on high for 3 hours.
- Once the ribs are cooked, remove them from the slow cooker and discard the liquid.
- Return the ribs to the slow cooker and coat them thoroughly with barbecue sauce.
- Cook the ribs on high for another hour to allow the barbecue sauce to caramelize and create a sticky glaze.
- Carefully transfer the ribs to a serving plate and serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
