Steak and Cheese Skillet

A one-pan wonder loaded with tender steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and gooey melted cheese. Perfect served on its own, over rice, or piled into a hoagie roll!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin steak (or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, chopped parsley for garnish

Directions

  1. Prep the steak:
Slice steak thinly against the grain. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the veggies:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 5–7 minutes, until softened. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sear the steak:
In the same skillet, increase heat to medium-high. Add steak in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until just browned.
  4. Add flavor:
Return the veggies to the pan. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and combine well.
  5. Melt the cheese:
Sprinkle cheese over the top. Cover the skillet for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve:
Garnish with red pepper flakes or parsley if desired. Serve hot!
